Unless the artist has come out and described, in detail, what their art is truly about, there really is no way of actually KNOWING it’s meaning.  That’s the beauty isn’t it?  Leaving it open to interpretation?  Allowing people to take something from it?  I mean you have your egotists who think their message may change the world, but really what makes good art, to this insomniac anyway, is when it hits me in the right place and the right time.  There are ways i can break down songs, or paintings by technique, or genre, or lyrical content, but when something is good, i mean, REALLY REALLY GOOD, it’s because i took away something from it that was relevant in the moment.  So what’s my point?  What am i getting at?  It’s that I find those who mock and or scoff at other peoples interpretations as a literal waste breath.  What an egotist YOU are, thinking YOU’VE the ONLY interpretation!  As if it were only written for your ears!  I can’t believe the incoherence to the other living breathing thinking beings alongside you!  All 6 billion or more!  And moreover, when did hearing a song before someone else give you authority on it’s meaning, or it’s profound relevance in ANYONE’s life but your own?? 

These are the feelings i gather from so many music snobs.  I may not like what you like, but i’ll never knock you for liking it.  Your profound relevance is your own.  far be it from me, or ANYONE for that matter, to tell you how and what makes it REALLY good.  I can tell you why i respect a band, why it speaks out to me, but i can never tell you why it speaks to you.  That’s for you to figure out.  Besides, nobody makes music for you anyway, aside from yourself.  To think otherwise is to float off into a profound dream-state.

I was gonna throw a breaking bad party where everyone I know who likes that show would all get together and drink and watch the premiere of the next season of breaking bad and I’d make candy that looked like their meth and all this fun shit, but then I remembered that I DONT GET HBO fuuuuuuuck wut am I gunna do
